Press-fit zones are specialized contact areas on connectors that create a reliable, solder-free electrical connection with a circuit board through mechanical pressing. The manufacturing of pres-fit zones confronts the manufacturers with particular challenges: The geometry has to be fit to create a gas-tight connection without soldering.
